JaNae Sorenson
JaNae Sorenson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Social Work. She has provided therapeutic interventions to trauma victims for nearly 25 years at various clinics and agencies.
Her experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults by utilizing a variety of age-appropriate and experiential interventions, including EMDR; Play Therapy; Sandtray; Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Mindfulness; Mind Body Bridging; and Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) from the Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute.
Ms. Sorenson supervised The Family Place’s Victim Intervention Program and provided services under grant funding from 2002 to 2019.
She is currently a Mental Health Counselor for Cache County School District and has a part-time private practice, Stepping Stones to Healing, which she loves!
Ms. Sorenson became passionate about working with First Responders after hearing a Utah Highway Patrol Trooper speak about the trauma he experienced being shot on the job. She advocated providing therapy to first responders under grant funding in 2016 and has worked with first responders ever since.
